Emme Nederbrock

Hello! My name is Emme (she/they) and I’m so excited to be a 2023 apprentice at Mastatal. I was born in the states, and spent my toddler years in Minnesota until my parents moved us to a small town in the Appalachian mountains in North Carolina. Living in NC I learned what it was to be myself. I like exercise, art, and animals. Specifically handstands/climbing/snowboarding, ceramics/jewelry making, and dogs. After graduating high school in 2018, I quickly turned around and got my CrossFit coaching license, and became certified to coach high school lacrosse and those two jobs have absolutely filled my heart! Ceramics has also wiggled a spot in my heart. I first learned in high school and have been growing my skills and personality with the medium for a few years now. I hope that I’ll be able to contribute another artistic mind to the ranch while I’m there.

I first learned about Rancho Mastatal through my partner, Sebastian. The more I learned about the program, the more I realized it aligned with values and skills that I wished to grow for myself. I look forward to gaining knowledge to improve and grow my life as a human and support my sweet pup while I’m away. I know that this experience will help me learn more about how to care for our earth too, which I’m excited for as well. Ive spent a lot of my life trying hard to care for others, and I’m excited to participate in this experience that will be for me.

I think it would be hard to fit EVERYTHING I’d want to say about myself in a short, readable excerpt, but I’m happy with what’s written now. All that’s left to say is that I’m so happy to gain this experience and share all my acquired knowledge someday!! Peace and love! (Wybie is the yellow dog)
