Travis
My name is Travis! I grew up in the mountains and valleys of upstate New York. I have my own small business removing invasive plants from my local area. I do a lot of restoration and native planting. I love gardening and growing my own food. So much that I made a business out of it. I love helping others plan and manage their own gardens. I’m an artist who loves hiking and camping. I’ve hiked the highest peaks in New York State! I love long boarding and fishing. I love to travel and experience other cultures. I’m excited to learn more and expand my knowledge at the Ranch!

Throughout my life I went from job to job never feeling like anything made me happy. I’ve worked in kitchens, carpentry and painting, construction, hardscape, and even spent some time in the textile industry. But I always felt like I didn’t fit in, like I wasn’t “normal”. I definitely learned a lot but never quite found something that I really enjoyed. Now that I’m older I have realized that my normal doesn’t align with what society deems normal. My values and aspirations more closely resemble those of our ancestors. I appreciate the simple, small things that make life wonderful. I wish to be more closely connected with nature and the universe. To build my own home. To live in harmony with the planet. To be more self-reliant and above all, to help others learn this also.

In my work I often have clients who want a more mindfully designed garden. There are a lot of people out there who want a permaculture garden but don’t know where to start. I would love to be able to bring that knowledge to them and help them create their dream garden.

I’m so excited to get to the Ranch and start immersing myself in everything it has to offer!
