Rancho Mastatal has forged connections around the world with people and organizations that in some way speak to our core values.  This links section connects you to some of these folks.  As the number of our relationships has increased, we found the need to break down these pages in to these easier to navigate categories.  

This section represents resources for discovering ways to contribute ourselves--via time, money, energy, resources--to worthy organizations around the world. Since volunteer service is an essential value here at Rancho Mastatal, this is an important section for our links directory.

The Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC) employs and trains a diverse group of young women and men and completes conservation projects for the public benefit.

Cabañas Siempre Verde is a sustainably minded ecotourism destination in close proximity to Costa Rica’s newest national park, La Cangreja National Park. We offer Spanish classes!

Villas Mastatal is located in a remote village outside of Puriscal, Costa Rica. At our farm, you will experience a natural, organic, biodynamic and localized way of life. The rainforest drives our lifestyle and we work to preserve the natural resources like fruits and vegetables in our farm. Our farm is 20 hectares (about 50 acres) of forest, river, waterfalls, and amazing natural resources.

Project Bona Fide is a non-profit organization working toward sustaining culture through organic agriculture, community correlated outreach, and re-forestation projects in Nicaragua.

WWOOF is a world wide network - It started in the UK in 1971 and has since become an international movement that is helping people share more sustainable ways of living.

The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship.

Volunteer at the Great Orangutan Project - The Great Orangutan Project is a coalition of various orangutan conservation projects driven to share a common goal in increasing sustainable ape populations in Borneo.

Worldwide Helpers is a non-profit internet portal, which connects people wishing to volunteer with projects worldwide in need of manpower. Acting as a catalyst, creating partnerships among volunteers and communities, Worldwide Helpers will develop into a network of people helping all over the world.

Volunteer SouthAmerica lists free and low-cost volunteer opportunities in South & Central America. The site is designed for backpackers and independent travelers who are looking for a real volunteer experience abroad, without paying any middle-man or agency fees.

Organic Volunteers is a network of educational opportunities in sustainability, permaculture and organic farming that supports a network of hosts for Latin America. Their database lists places for volunteers, students & visitors throughout Latin America.

Help Exchange lists work in exchange for accommodation and food stays on farms, backpacker hostels, lodges etc. It's called Help Exchange or HelpX for short and its free for both hosts and helpers to join online. Our community has now grown to over 500 hosts worldwide and many more helpers and you are welcome to join us.

Ecoteer Volunteer Agency — Do you dream of new experiences, such as waking up to a chorus of gibbons, searching for orangutans, horse riding in the Pampas or dancing to the drums of a local tribe? If so, Ecoteer can help you achieve these dreams. We provide extremely low-cost volunteer placements in ecotourism, conservation and community development that benefit local communities and make a long lasting difference to their environments. 

Global Volunteer Network is a nonprofit organization placing volunteers in community projects in China, Ecuador, Ghana, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Thailand and Uganda. Volunteers participate in a variety of educational, environmental and community aid programs.

TravelWorks is dedicated to fostering intercultural understanding through immersion in numberous volunteering opportunities in Latin America and around the world.  Volunteers gain experience in the fields of child care, health care, education, environmental protection, wildlife conservation, tourism, infrastructure, and maintenance/construction. 

Havilla Children's Center is an organization working with neglected children living in the Kibera Slums of Nairobi, Kenya.

Free Volunteering.Net is dedicated to providing free and low cost volunteering opportunities around the world. A new site that brings a philosophy that your time is a sufficient contribution to a project and that financial donations should not be mandatory.
