Leo Dib
I was born in Egypt to an American mother and French father, and grew up in a few places.
Exploring different cultures through music and travel since childhood, I feel a sense of belonging in a few places, all owing to the people I’ve been welcomed and shaped by, and the natural beauty surrounding and enveloping us.
I have a keen interest in harmonious spaces and how certain spaces affect inspiration and one’s internal state. The way that beauty begets more beauty, the way certain spaces make us feel at ease and open up the creative channels, as opposed to modern buildings and homes which isolate and require many toxic ingredients to be made and sustained.
By living in various cultures, and in a number of environments and ecosystems, I’m coming to the conclusion that building a life of participation and skill building is a perfect way to breed more joy and a purposeful existence of interdependence.
I love walking, being in the water, surfing, reading, jamming and exploring new lands and languages. I’m looking forward to learning about all the processes involved in regenerative living, through cooking, growing, fermenting, building, reading and the like.
I’ve dabbled in many fields, doing labor work, commercial painting, some landscaping, arborism, playing in bands, and other miscellaneous things in an effort to broaden my understanding of people, skills, exploring different roles and lifestyles, and am looking forward to building and consolidating a new body of knowledge and experience, to leave the Ranch with a strong base for participating and contributing to myriad other projects, ready to explore and regenerate new horizons undiscovered.
I see a need for more of us to be a part of the shift in paradigms in such challenging times, developing more skill and creativity alongside inspired individuals, in an effort to affect change and do our part, acting as healthy parts of Nature, sustaining ourselves with the bounty at our reach and the techniques required to harness it.
I make sure to play music all the while, one of my great loves.
The opportunity to be a part of the rancho for a year and learn from the local people of Mastatal and the team has been a deeply coveted one for a few years now, and needless to say, great success!
May the mosquitoes be clement (or the nets effective), and may we lock-in and complete our shared mission (and play frisbee).
Peace,
Leo
