Jules Eicher
Hello! My name is Jules and I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin. I started my young life at a Waldorf school where the natural world became intrinsically connected to my values. This connection propelled me forward both in formal education and in the things I found joy in.
During college I studied regenerative agriculture at a working college in western North Carolina. Here I became aligned with the world of farming. I had always been aware of the disconnection between humans and the land, however until then I had not pieced together that this stemmed from an unawareness of how to live off the land. A lack of general gratitude for the things that keep us living.
I have spent the last few years traveling around the world working and bicycling. Interacting with dozens of different farmers and observing how they formed a relationship with the land they worked so intimately with.
While bicycling through Costa Rica this past year I met an expat farmer who introduced me to the idea of living in and farming the tropics. I became extremely interested in this topic and looked long and hard for a way to learn more. Rancho Mastatal feels like the right next step for me in this journey of knowledge and I’m extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity.
