Description
We are currently looking to bring in a professional arborist looking for some winter Costa Rican sunshine and excited to work in a jungle canopy.  We are looking for a hard working, self-starter with experience in removing tricky trees in and around multiple buildings and orchard spaces.The Ranch team has a plethora of skills but with our limited time we are currently unable to do it all.  We are falling behind on our tree work and need a boost to help us catch back up in this area.

We are looking for an experienced person or people (ideally 2 people who can work together) to join our team for 2 weeks or more this November to help us remove some potentially dangerous trees in and around our orchard spaces.

Qualifications

  • Relevant professional arborist experience.

  • Interest in the culture and mission of Rancho Mastatal.

  • Ability to abide by all Rancho Mastatal policies.

  • Ability to commit to agreed upon time frame.

Optional but helpful qualifications

  • Spanish language abilities.

Timeframe
Between January 8 and January 23, 2023.

  • Equipment sourcing and organization prior to arrival.

  • Training and working with Rancho Mastatal core team members.

  • Milling and sawing logs with an Alaskan chainsaw mill.

  • 2 Stihl MS230 chainsaws

  • 1 Husky 576 chainsaw w/28" bar and Alaskan mill

  • 3 pruning saws

  • An assortment of carabiners

  • An assortment of straps and webbing

  • 1 scender

  • 2 grigris

  • An assortment of pulleys

  • 1 come-along
